Please take a look at my itinerary…

And let me know if I’m missing anything obvious.

September (dates tbc)

Fly from U.K. to Cape Town

Overnight in CT

Day 1-8: An accommodated group tour along the Garden Route, includes Betties Bay penguins, whale watching at Hermanus, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Tsitsikamma National Park, Addo NP, Mossel Bay and ending in CT. (This cannot be changed).

Day 9-11: CT, maybe join some local day tours.

Day 12: fly to Johannesburg and transfer to KNP.

3 nights at Kurhula Wildlife Lodge (including meals, game drives of Parsons Reserve and trips to KNP) which overlooks the Olifants River.

3 nights in KNP doing DIY self-drive & staying at a sanspark lodge.

Transfer back to Jo’burg, fly to CT and return to U.K.

I’ll be travelling solo with the purpose of seeing lots of animals 🙂

Whilst I am comfortable driving around the park slowly, unfortunately due to a back injury, I cannot drive long distances without stopping so will not be driving from jo’burg to KNP.

Please do you have any recommendations of where to stay in Kruger? My main interest is elephants & giraffes.

I’m awaiting confirmation from the lodge request transfers and advice as to where I can hire a car from nearby.

I considered flying to a closer airport to KNP than Jo but it totalled around £280 compared to the £180 for return flights to Jo and transfers to KNP. Although a difference of £100 may seem small, it actually equates to one extra night at the lodge – which I would rather spend it on.

Many thanks in advance
